Long-time Washingtonian, Mitzi Wertheim, has a diverse background of nearly 50 years of experience working within and developing a network of government and non-governmental organizations specializing in horizontal communications and solutions to complex conservation, socio-political, and energy problems.

In 1961 she was the first hire of the Peace Corps. She was the U.S. Navy’s first female political appointee as Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy. She also co-founded MIT’s Seminar XXII for future leaders of the foreign and national security policy communities.

The recipient of numerous recognition’s such as Navy Distinguished Public Service Award, HHS Alumni Award for Excellence, DOD Federally Employed Women Award, and Woodrow Wilson Fellow, Mitzi is a beacon of success and a woman to be admired for generations to come.
